Majena (Jena) Mafe (BA Visual Art. Honors. MFA Visual Art. MPhil CW PhD in progress) is the founder and creative director of artmilk. She is an experienced, innovative and creative teacher with over thirty years experience teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level. She is a practicing visual and sound artist, she works in performance and digital media, she is a published writer, film maker, and theorist. Her work is language, voice, text and performative based. She has been exhibiting both nationally and internationally for the past twenty five years.

In all her teaching Majena's aim is to make accessible to individuals the rich experience of their creative potential, helping people learn step by step how to grow as artists. Majena's broad and widely acclaimed list of workshops from Tradition Artist Materials and Techniques to Experimental and Expressive Drawing, enable participants to discover their unique direction in regard to establishing an art practice, consolidating and taking their world to the commercial market. Her mentoring program has helped artist become professional, win awards and prizes, gain scholarships, residencies and grants, exhibit overseas, take up jobs in the arts industry and form their own thriving practices.
